Maya Rivera

Maya leads platform research at Kestrel HR Analytics, focusing on how mid-market HR teams adopt and get value from people-analytics tools. Her work concentrates on the gap between platform capability and HR team capacity — the work that actually has to happen for a tool to produce decisions, not just dashboards.

Before joining Kestrel in 2023, Maya spent six years inside the HR analytics function at Workforce Strategies Group, where she built the first attrition-prediction model used across the firm's mid-market client base. Earlier, she worked as an HR business partner at a 1,200-employee healthcare services company, where she got her first lessons in the difference between an interesting analysis and a useful one.

Maya holds a master's degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University.
